| Biography of Dr. Christine
Wood
Christine (Ito) Wood, M.D. is currently a practicing pediatrician and
lactation educator at El Camino Pediatrics in Encinitas, California
since 1990. She attended the University of Detroit for her undergraduate
degree in chemistry and received her medical degree from the University of
Michigan. She completed her pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of
Los Angeles. She was Chief Resident there and then worked in the emergency
room at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. After three years doing
pediatric emergency room medicine she went into private practice in Santa
Monica, California. She relocated to the San Diego area in 1990 and joined
her current practice. She received her lactation educator certification from
the University of California, San Diego in 1991.
In 1996, she became interested in the role of nutritional supplementation
in diseases and started doing extensive research on the subject. The
following year she was honored to be selected by an international
nutritional company as one of four physicians on their Medical Advisory
Board.
Dr. Wood has become a spokesperson regarding the role of nutrition and
nutritional supplementation in the lives of children today. She has lectured
on the subject throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, and New
Zealand.
In 1997 she launched the Call Your Pediatrician website. She is
the author of a book, called How
to Get Kids to Eat Great & Love It!, published in 1999 by KidsEatGreat, Inc. You can check out her

She teaches workshops for parents on healthy feeding ideas for kids. She
also lectures to medical professionals on the role of nutrition and disease
in children.
She has appeared as a guest on numerous radio shows and has been featured
in magazines such as Family Life, Wasatch Parent Magazine, The Godly
Business Woman, and the San Diego Business Journal. She has been a guest
writer for Newsweek magazine about the "on call" life of a
pediatrician. Redbook magazine will feature her advice on healthy
eating in 2001.
She lives in Southern California with her husband and son.
